Ravinia Music Festival
The Ravinia Music Festival, North America’s oldest music festival, stands today as the nations most musically diverse, presenting over 140 different events throughout the summer. The annual summer festival enables gifted young performers to study under great teachers and perform on stage among some of the nation’s most talented artists. This year the concert schedule includes weekend concerts for kids during the day and international superstars (Tony Bennett, Stevie Nicks, Smokey Robinson, John Mellencamp, One Republic, etc.) during the evenings along with the annual summer residency of the nation’s finest orchestra, The Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

The beautiful 36-acre park that is home to the Ravinia Music Festival is welcoming to all and attractive to families in which the music experience is enhanced by a beautiful environment and excellent dining opportunities. Nestled in a gently wooded area that makes it an enchanting place to experience music. Guests can bring their own picnics or eat at one of the park restaurants.
The Ravinia Park presents performances of a full range of classical music in its open-air Pavilion and enclosed recital halls, by the world’s greatest composers and musicians, along with a variety of other kinds of light classical, jazz and popular music. Children up to age 15, high school and college students are admitted free to the lawn for classical performances. One of the missions for the Ravinia Park Music Festival is to develop broader and more diverse audiences for classical music through education and outreach programs and by maintaining affordable ticket prices.

Picnic on the Lawn
The Ravinia Music Festival is primarily known as an outdoor venue with a gorgeous sprawling lawn. We encourage our guests to bring chairs, tables, blankets and as much food and beverages as you need.
The pavilion stage is not within view of the lawn (well, most areas anyways). However, with your lawn ticket you may stand near the back or along the sides of the pavilion. Never fear, you can still hear! All concerts in the Pavilion and Martin Theatre are broadcast to the lawn via a state-of-the-art sound system.
No Street Parking – Please remember that the Ravinia Park is located along the streets of a residential neighborhood. Parking on the residential streets surrounding Ravinia is strictly prohibited. Highland Park Police will issue tickets to violators. The fine is $100. Click here for more info on parking.
