Most people don’t think of Southern California when they think of Cowboys, but Los Angeles is home to one of the world’s best, biggest and oldest Cowboy Festivals — the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival – five fun filled days for 25 years and gettin’ better every year.
Since 1994, thousands of guests attend the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival to celebrate cowboy culture with a musical lineup of show-stopping talent and entertainment. The Cowboy Festival is a fun experience for all ages and interests. Come and watch history come alive with a Civil War skirmish and demonstrations of trick roping, hatchet throwing, archery, and much more.
And, more than two decades ago; Santa Clarita City leaders were inspired by the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada, and decided to create a unique celebration of Santa Clarita’s Western history – from art and music to film and television. In 1994, the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival made its debut, honoring the authentic Old West through music, poetry, cowboy gear, food and storytelling in a setting that was unique to the area…and the rest is history! Santa Clarita’s rich Western heritage takes center stage each year at the Cowboy Festival.
