Voted a “Top 20 Southeast Event” The Georgia Renaissance Festival is an interactive art and entertainment festival held each spring combining outdoor theater, circus-style entertainment, and an arts and craft marketplace, all set inside our recreated 16th-Century European village.

Time Travelers’ Gathering – Cosplay Meets the Renaissance
Step into a village where time and imagination collide! Our CosPlay Weekend in 2025 will have a special twist, inviting both historical Renaissance characters and modern pop culture icons to mingle and celebrate. Costume contests, photo ops, and special guests will make this the most epic mashup of past and future. Who will you dress up as—an iconic knight from the 16th century or a futuristic superhero from a faraway galaxy?
Special Anniversary Contest: “Best Time Traveler Costume” – Embrace both eras, mixing and matching the Renaissance with your favorite fandom!
The Royal Court – 40 Years of Merriment
As part of our 40th Anniversary celebration, we’ll be reintroducing some of the most beloved and iconic characters from the past 40 years. Expect special performances, and a reimagined royal parade showcasing the noble past and fantastical future of Newcastle. Watch as our royals lead the Kingdom through a grand parade, featuring past performers, familiar faces, and a special tribute to the history of the festival.
A Grand Feast for the Ages
The Kingdom of Newcastle will be hosting a grand feast fit for 40 years! Indulge in traditional Renaissance dishes and special anniversary-themed treats, and enjoy a night filled with music, revelry, and live performances. Enjoy a taste of history while celebrating the festival’s milestone with friends, family, and fellow fans.
Anniversary-Only Artisans and Merch
To commemorate 40 years of creative artisanship, our festival will feature exclusive limited-edition merchandise, anniversary art, and special crafts that reflect both the festival’s storied past and the future of the Kingdom. April 18 & 19 – CosPlay Weekend: Time Warp Edition
Our CosPlay Weekend takes on a new, magical twist as we celebrate 40 years of Renaissance-inspired costumes with a special “Time Warp” theme! Imagine the fusion of medieval knights and futuristic superheroes, sci-fi adventurers, and fantasy characters. The village is alive with photo ops, contests, and time-traveling guests. It’s a weekend where anything (or anyone) from any era could show up!
April 26 & 27 – Kids Free Weekend: A Kingdom for All Ages!
Bring the little ones to explore the village with one child free with each paid adult. With special kid-friendly performances, contests, and surprises, the Georgia Renaissance Festival is the perfect destination for families. Let the next generation of fans experience the magic that has captivated hearts for 40 years.
May 3 & 4 – Romance Weekend: Love Through the Ages
Celebrate the timeless theme of romance that transcends eras during this special weekend. Love is in the air as we blend the medieval romance of the Renaissance with fantasy love stories from every corner of the imagination. Special promotions, Fairy House Competitions, and a tribute to the enduring power of love will make this weekend unforgettable.
May 17 & 19 – Pirates Plunder Weekend: A 40-Year Legacy of Adventure
Ahoy, ye scallywags! Celebrate Pirates Plunder Weekend with a tribute to 40 years of high-seas adventure. The village will be overrun by pirates, treasure hunts, and costume contests. Feast like a pirate, shop for plunder, and experience the legendary spirit of the Renaissance Festival with a twist of swashbuckling fun!
May 24, 25, 26 – Memorial Day Weekend: Three Full Days of Celebration!
Join us for three full days of fun and festivities in the Kingdom of Newcastle. Special events will be announced, but you can expect to see musical performances, guest appearances, and more! Honor the past while celebrating 40 years of joy.
May 31 & June 1 – Last Huzzah Weekend: A Farewell to a 40th Anniversary Celebration
End the 40th-anniversary season with the Last Huzzah! Celebrate all the memories and magic from the past two months with special events, an epic send-off, and a grand finale that will leave you looking forward to next year. It’s your final chance to experience all the wonder and excitement of the festival before the gates close for the year.
