La Conner Daffodil Festival
– Presented across the beautiful flower fields of Skagit Valley, Washington
Daily 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM | Annual Festival – March 1st to March 31st
It’s just so beautiful in late February and March with the Daffodils blooming and there are so many fun events and exhibits in La Conner during the month of March. Whether you are a gardening enthusiast looking for inspiration or someone who appreciates the beauty of nature, the La Conner Daffodil Festival is an unforgettable experience for all ages. If you can’t make it to Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in April, skip the crowds and invite your family and friends in March this year for the La Conner Daffodil Festival!
While the tulips are our most famous blooms, there’s nothing quite as wonderful as entire fields of bright, cheery daffodils against our Mt. Baker backdrop at the La Conner Daffodil Festival.
The Dandy Daffodil Tweed Bike Ride – Saturday, March 15th | All Riders leave at 10:00 AM — SHARP!
The La Conner Daffodil Festival Bike Ride – Join us in La Conner among the daffodil fields for a dashing bicycle ride with a bit of style. It’s a perfect place to be planted and a beautiful place to bloom. Tally-ho! What is a tweed ride you may wonder! A tweed ride is a return to a bygone era in England when families would dress in their best clothing, assemble a picnic lunch, get on the train with their bicycles and go out to the countryside. Riding their bicycles home.
What would be better than a group ride among fields of daffodils in which the cyclists dress in classic tweed or any smart looking outfit. Any effort made to recreate the spirit of yesteryear is also always appreciated. Any and all bicycles are acceptable on the Tweed Ride. Its a smashing way to throw a party for all our cycling friends to celebrate the arrival of Spring.
Riders should expect a scenic route enjoyed at a slow pace, stops along the way with exceptionally evocative atmospheres, and plenty of time to socialize with other well-dressed, convivial cyclists.
9:00AM-10:00AM
The Festivities commence in front of the Orange Rainbow Espresso, located at 604 South First Street at the most respectable hour of 9(ante meridiem).
At 10:00AM — SHARP!
We shall ride like the wind! Well… a slow, polite, and Jolly wind, anyway. Please be prompt.
10:00AM – 2:00PM The Ride
We have been granted with a very horizontal riding surface. Many millennia ago, the ice age melted and produced miles of delightful riding. Alright the ice age had nothing at all to do with it, but there are plenty of smashing flat roads and beautiful scenery to savor. This will give you an ample amount of time to enjoy the ride.
11:00PM – 2:00PM The Picnic
After the photographs of daffodil’s are taken, you might fancy a picnic brunch mid way through the journey. Spread a blanket and enjoy a spot of tea and cookies. Perhaps a scone or lemonade? Maybe you’ll partake in a ripping good game of croquet or badminton?
2:00PM – 6:00PM The Soirée
Our great adventure shall conclude around 2PM with our Dear Friends at Hellam’s Vineyard, located at 109 North First Street. This is where the hobnobbery and other diversions await! Isn’t it amazing how these things work out?
