Tall Ships at Port of Ilwaco
– presented for FREE along the shores of the Pacific Ocean in Ilwaco, Washington
Saturday & Sunday | September 17 – 23, 2018
The Long Beach Peninsula of Washington, offers an array of festivals and events every year. Lady Washington, the official tall ship of Washington state, has scheduled visits to Ilwaco, Washington. Get a taste of the Life on the High Seas with the Tall Ships at Port of Ilwaco.
Few places offer more High Seas lore than the Port of Ilwaco, just inside the Columbia River bar — infamously known as the “Graveyard of the Pacific” because of the ship bashing seas that develop when then Pacific Ocean swells meet the Columbia River currents.
The tall ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain will be at dockside for self-guided tours, with crew in themed costumes to tell sea stories and answer questions. How would you like to step aboard one of the actual ships used in filming The Pirates of the Caribbean and the Cult Classic Film – The Goonies. And if you’re feeling like a real mighty sailor and aching for the Sea, book an afternoon adventure cruise aboard Lady Washington, the state’s official tall ship.
- Ships open for touring, 10: AM.-1 p.m. May 30 and 31
- Afternoon 2-hour Cruise, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM offered from $39 to $47.00 per Sea Goer
Walk-on tours – $3.00 donation
